Family finance tracker

Your proven national insight

The Bacs Family Finance Tracker research began in 1988 and provides a measure of consumer’s financial behaviour, which has developed overtime into a fascinating overview of the money habits of the GB population.

The research includes:

  • Banking behaviour
  • Spending and payment patterns
  • Changing attitudes to money
  • Adoption of new technologies such as internet shopping and digital TV
  • Changes and differences in income
  • Media consumption.

The research is representative of the GB population and is carried out throughout the year on our behalf by Ipsos-MORI, with results available on an ongoing basis.

Below are some examples of news stories generated from the BFFT research reports. The areas addressed in these news stories do not by any means provide a definitive representation of the wealth of date contained in the BFFT reports. They simply give a flavour of the information we have available
