Terry Smart says: SAVE with Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the easiest option for companies as well as you. That's why many of them offer discounts to encourage you to pay this way!

Take a look at some of the typical savings here. But remember there are plenty more available, so it's always worth checking when you get a bill to see how much you can save.

TV licensing, Powergen, British Gas, BT, Talk Talk, Vodafone, Orange, plus many water and utility providers and local authorities (council tax) are just some of the big boys who offer discounts.

Discounts differ from person to person, but my table shows typical Direct Debit savings:

House
Saving
Combined gas and electricity (npower) £80.00
Broadband/Digital TV (Virginmedia) £60.00
Landline telephone (BT) £18.00
IPC magazine subscription to Now Magazine £14.08
Mobile phone £36.00
Total    £208.08

The savings shown are based on the maximum discounts available from the example providers per year. This is not intended to be a complete list of all discounts currently available. (Information correct on 1 July 2007). Please note that '£50 saving by next Easter' is calculated based on quarters discounts starting from January.
